NEW MEXICO'S
BADLANDS
MARS ON EARTH
This unknown section of New Mexico is full of hoodoos, rugged buttes, and lunar landscapes (and you thought the aliens were in Roswell).
Hiking at Bisti Badlands isn’t like a developed park: this is raw wilderness.
There are no marked trails and no signs on the landmarks stating “you are here”.
TREAD CAREFULLY
ABOVE AND BELOW
See layered buttes from the ground looking up -- or head higher to look down over expansive views.
BE PREPARED
Hikers should have a GPS or other navigational skills (and be prepared to use them).
PRO TIP
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE
DESERT
Situated in the midst of Navajo lands, the Bisti Badlands and De-Na-Zin Wilderness aren't the type of places you stumble upon accidentally.
WORTH THE DRIVE
