Culebra vs Vieques

Puerto Rico

Off the east coast of Puerto Rico, you'll find two smaller islands: Culebra and Vieques.

They both offer beaches, laidback vibes, and seaside attractions.

No traffic. No crowds. Plenty of peace and quiet.

CULEBRA

Culebra is best known for Flamenco Beach: powdered sugar sand, clear turquoise waters, easy swimming. Nearby, there's great snorkeling.

Vieques is best known for the world's brightest "biobay", which lights up as you kayak at night. It's 5x larger than Culebra, and offers lots of beaches and outdoor recreation.

VIEQUES

In a perfect world, you'll visit both.      If time is short,         how do you        choose?

CULEBRA

It's possible to visit Culebra as a day trip from San Juan. Beach bums will love spending a few nights.

VIEQUES

Vieques needs a minimum of 1 night; longer is better. Go-getters and adventurers will find plenty to do.
